Hi Jeff, You are FAR from sh*t out of luck! I did not have a CDROM to use under linux either. And I still do not have an ISP that I can connect to under linux (only WIN95).
I do not know what your hardware config is. For example, PCMCIA interface? If so, I do not believe it is possible to use the CDROM for the initial install, since the PCMCIA card services need to be installed first. If you have a regular PCI CDROM, it might actually be possible, other can help. I assume it is possible. If you do have a PCMCIA interface (like I do) it is still possible to install "packages" in dselect once you get the CDROM working. Have you installed the "base system", or just the stuff from the rescue and drivers disks? Please post a little info on your exact hardware config. By the way, I was exactly at the point you were about a month ago. It was frustrating trying many modules (scsi_mod, sd_mod, sr_mod) and having it always fail during the initial install! You will look back and laugh one you get up and running... John ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
