I'm having problems with one of my machines running X. It is very
unstable freezing the whole machine requiring a hard reset ramdomly
(Sometimes I resize a window and it happens) as well as on startup of
certain programs (Halo scren saver and xzed amongst others) and I was
wondering if it could be because my video card isn't fully supported
under my current version of xsvga (Whatevers in slink ATM) although it
is listed in the supported cards on xfree86.org.
My question is does anyone know if the version in unstable supports
Diamond Stealth 3D 4000 (I pay for access by the meg, so if it won't fix
it, I won't bother) or has anyone else had success/problems with this
card, or perhaps I'm blaming the wrong thing for my problems. I have
tried a few different window managers (fvwm2 and enlightenment) and
under both setups the same problems. Should I try another window
manager? Or are there a few specific programs that everyone has
problems with?
Any information that helps me to fix this problem is greatly
