I'm a newbie to Linux, I'm trying to install
Debian Linux (ver 2.0.34) from 3.5" floppy. This is the first attempt to
install Linux, I chose Debian, becuase it was the most easily accessable Linux I
could find on the net. My computer, a IBM PS/2 (486SLC2), full specs can be
found at www.ibm.com, the only difference from
original is it has been upgraded to 16MB (from 8).
The problem is that when I boot (using defualt settings) with the rescue disk, it can't detect my SCSI hard disk. I haven't tried to load Debian straight from hard disk, and don't I want to. The Debian install prints the following errors before entering the install menu. (no particular order) IBM MCA SCSI: No SCSI Atteched
SCSI: 0 Hosts SCSI: Detected total Failed initialization of WD-7000 SCSI card. Specs about my PC can be found in the attached
text document.
