Here are my log files. The trouble seems to be this line: Dec 20 10:49:50 ganesha /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: missing kernel or user mode driver visor This suggests that the driver isn't recognized by the hotplug scripts, but I'm not at all sure. My latest theory is that the visor is actually sync'ing, but this problem causes the scripts to kill the connection before it completes. I press the sync button, then see the visor say it's connecting, sending the user name, then the connection is broken. I'd love to switch to Debian, but I use Evolution and sync my Visor to it - I need it to keep track of my life (even if other people don't 8-) ). But this is baffling. lsmod shows the visor driver module loads just fine - it's something in the hotplug system, or a bad driver, or? I tried recompiling the kernel to rebuild the visor module, and ran into another can of worms - in the 2.4.18 kernel there doesn't seem to be any option to allow me to set framebuffer support! I do QA for a living - is this actually as bad as it looks or (hopefully) what am I missing? Sigh...
