Slashdot ( http://www.slashdot.org/ ) has an article about Oracle's plans to support a Linux port. It cites http://www.theregister.co.uk/980908-000023.html which tells us that Oracle have signed up with RedHat, VA Research, Pacific HiTech, and SuSE. Slashdot (though not the cited article) refer to these as `all 4 major distributions'. Debian is conspicuous only by its absence.
Does anyone know if this is likely to change in future, or will it soon be the case that if I want to run Oracle under Linux I should choose another distribution ? -- Martin Oldfield.
