/vmlinuz should be a link to boot/vmlinuz-2.0.33 if you, as root: ls -l /vmlinuz /boot you should see /vmlinuz, /boot/System.map-2.0.33, /boot/vmlinuz-2.0.33, should all have the same create time. If not, I'd rm all of those, and dpkg --install /usr/src/kernel-image<whatever>.deb and check again.
