I'm getting an object restriction error: localhost# dpkg-source -x wwwoffle_1.3a-1.dsc dpkg-source: error: tarfile `./wwwoffle_1.3a.orig.tar.gz' contains object (wwwoffle-1.3a/) not in expected directory (wwwoffle-1.3a.orig) The dpkg docs suggest this is potentially a symlink or permissions error, but I haven't modified the files, so I'm wondering if either the permissions on the files aren't correct or maybe the hamm directory structure is different from my bo; wwwoffle is only available from hamm. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4806 Nov 29 15:19 wwwoffle_1.3a-1.diff.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 632 Nov 29 15:19 wwwoffle_1.3a-1.dsc -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 102819 Nov 29 15:20 wwwoffle_1.3a.orig.tar.gz I'm pretty sure I want to use wwwoffle, so I'd sure like to do this thing. I looked at the three wwwoffle files, and they're in good shape (byte comparison, and I've looked at the tarballs with tar, .dsc with editor), I've tried changing the directory name, giving the files executable permission, I'm running as root, in /usr/src/.. , and I'm just about out of ideas.
