I remember having similar problems . When I got my Infomagic 6 CD set, and wrote the install (rescue) diskette, LINUX wouldn't even boot. It will hang at the spot where it is looking for SCSI device. Well after several attempts at this I abandoned the idea of LINUX.
Then after several weeks, I tried again and it came up and let me install LINUX. But it froze again when I tried to boot from hard disk and even the rescue disk like old. I forget the sequence of things. pwr down, boot win95, boot DOS. Soon I had Linux again. So I proceeded to recompile. Took references of any stuff I dont use out of the config. Added append "ether=11,0x340" to LILO.CONF ......yours may vary!! I dont have that problem anymore. Wait!! I do when I pop in the RESCUE diskette. So I suggest rebuilding your favorite kernel. kevin havener wrote: > The problem began when the network guys switched from Novell server to > NT Server...in the process they (up/down)graded me from WfW 3.11 to Win > 95 on my local machine.
