If I read these messages correctly, my CDROM should be /dev/sr0 I pop-in a CD and do the following - # mount -t umsdos /dev/sr0 /cdrom mount: the kernel does not recogonize /dev/sr0 as a block device (maybe `insmod driver'?) # mount -t iso9660 /dev/sr0 /cdrom mount: the kernel does not recogonize /dev/sr0 as a block device (maybe `insmod driver'?) My kernel has umsdos, iso9660, SCSI CD-ROM support compiled in. # ls -l /dev/sr0 brw-r--r-- 1 root root 22, 0 Jul 24 17:46 /dev/sr0 My machine is a Compaq DeskPro XL 6200. How could I get my CD-ROM to work? Also, has anybody got the MSS Sound to work on a Compaq DeskPro XL?
