I'm doing something very similar, and I chose to use Sarge. If you are nervous about it, contact the package maintainers for the top used or purpose packages and ask them about the release status. E.g., I asked the postgresql maintenance team about the release of postgresql since I am doing this for a database server. Also, do want to do a whole install and then have to upgrade it in a couple of weeks. Save yourself some headaches and go Sarge now. My $0.37, but YMMV, Brooks -- Brooks R.
