Aaah, that's a known problem, caused by a bug in the native CUPS backport in 1.1.2. You have two options to try: 1. Try removing any extra CUPS instances that you have for the printer. 2. See /usr/share/doc/openoffice.org/README.Debian.gz and follow the instructions to disable the native CUPS support code.
