Yes it does, partially. This is a bug in the dependencies of sysv-rc-conf, it should depend on both sysvinit and sysv-rc so that sysvinit gets upgraded properly .. >Is it safe to overwrite >this file with the version distributed by sysv-rc, or is this a >temporary fix? Probably not, you should install sysvinit first, that will make sure sysvinit, sysv-rc and initscripts are installed in the proper order. I've filed a bugreport against sysv-rc.
