Could you be more precise? What is renamed, what is forked, what is cloned? What properties will hold true after the fork? I presume that "stable" simply becomes symlinked to "sarge" instead of "woody." Is a copy of the "sarge" archive created to become the new testing, which happens initially to point to the exact same places in /pool that stable does?
