Making KDE my default GUI....

Ok, I honestly tried to google and find the answer, but I have gotten is 
comparison reviews between Gnome and KDE. Can someone please tell me where 
the file resides that I need to edit? I have been scoping out /etc/X11 and 
usr/X11R6/bin and still am stumped.. Please help! TIA!!
