I have just set up a 1/2 TB external RAID array using 5 137 GB SCSI disks driven by an Adaptec 2120S hardware RAID controller card. A configuration utility on a bootable CD that came with the card recognized the hardware and allowed me to configure a RAID-5 logical volume.
Now I want to use that logical volume under Debian sid running a 2.4 kernel. Can anyone who has experience with this card recommend a driver? Should I try to install and use the RH 7.2 driver on the Adpatec CD? Download an updated binary driver from some Adpatec website? Or is there an open source driver that does the job just as well?
