Is portmapper runing? what does rpcinfo -p show? is there a firewall on the system? I suppose it could be kernel configuration too, can you include a copy of the kernel config for the section "Networking Options"(this is for 2.2.x, 2.4.x may name it slightly differently. e.g. my options are: CONFIG_PACKET=y # CONFIG_NETLINK is not set CONFIG_FIREWALL=y CONFIG_FILTER=y CONFIG_UNIX=y CONFIG_INET=y # CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST is not set # CONFIG_IP_ADVANCED_ROUTER is not set # CONFIG_IP_PNP is not set CONFIG_IP_FIREWALL=y CONFIG_IP_TRANSPARENT_PROXY=y # CONFIG_IP_MASQUERADE is not set # CONFIG_IP_ROUTER is not set # CONFIG_NET_IPIP is not set # CONFIG_NET_IPGRE is not set CONFIG_IP_ALIAS=y CONFIG_SYN_COOKIES=y you can find this info in the /boot/config-`uname -r` file if you used kernel-package to build your kernel(or installed a debian kernel, or /usr/src/linux/.config otherwise(or wherever you may have the linux source). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
