Package: installation-reports Severity: grave Tags: sid Justification: renders package unusable
-- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Installation on a Toshiba Satellite 4010CTD 64 mb ram, pII 266, 4 gb ide hd, ide cdrom. Used boot floppies from sid. (kernel 2.4.22-1-i386) Installation seemed to go fine, it had detected the hardware fine (other than network, see below), downloaded stuff from whatever default mirror was configured, everything was good until it started trying to run cfdisk, then it threw an error about cannot open disk, press any key to exit, and looped back to the same error every time I hit a key. (checking ps aux in the shell it seemed like one of the postinst scripts was continually running cfdisk) running cfdisk from the shell produced the same error. (but no loop). Running cfdisk from the shell with a parameter of the path to the ide disk (/dev/discs/disc0/disc) brought up what I expected to see (the partition table of the disk so I could partion it). Notes about the network: Since the boot images + network image did not have support for rtl8150.o I copied it manually via a floppy using the shell, modprobed it, then returned to the installer menu and continued.
