After rebooting the hostname for the machine was not retained, and localhost was used instead. Apart from that it has been a wonderful experience, and I had no problems at all. I was following the published HOWTO. Since the bug in the partitioning (209286) is solved from partitioner 0.07, maybe the paragraph which warned not to use it can be removed from the above document (I actually used the partitioner, since, after having a look at the bug it was closed, and I had the right version of partitioner in the cd) I also tried to use autopartkit, and it didn't work. Maybe this depends on the fact that I tried it after having actually partitioned in the "classical way" (in fact I only wanted to look at it and see what it proposed). Ok, I had mounted partitions and the swap activated, but maybe autopartkit could umount them, before doing anything (if this is the problem). After all I allowed it to destroy my data, didn't I? ;) Anyway: using the automatic partitioner gave some errors, and I don't know if it's because I already had partition table or not... Thanks for all, btw, I think the system is very nice! :) Guido --===============2045672785==-- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 212141-done) by bugs.debian.org; 22 Sep 2003 15:49:35 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Sep 22 10:49:22 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from smtp1.libero.it [193.70.192.51] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1A1SwC-0002SP-00; Mon, 22 Sep 2003 10:49:20 -0500 Received: from deathstar (151.38.127.155) by smtp1.libero.it (7.0.020-DD01) id 3F6F0E48000085FC for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Mon, 22 Sep 2003 17:49:50 +0200 Received: from executor.studio.tixteam.net (executor [192.168.5.3]) by deathstar (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0C3E77E42E for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Mon, 22 Sep 2003 14:34:26 +0200 (CEST) Received: by executor.studio.tixteam.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 0770D1FD61; Mon, 22 Sep 2003 14:32:15 +0200 (CEST) Date: Mon, 22 Sep 2003 14:32:15 +0200 From: Guido Trotter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: I already resubmitted this Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.4i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Status: No, hits=1.2 required=4.0 tests=RCVD_IN_NJABL version=2.53-bugs.debian.org_2003_9_21 X-Spam-Level: * X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.53-bugs.debian.org_2003_9_21 (1.174.2.15-2003-03-30-exp) Hi, Sorry for the double bug submission. I first submitted the report to the wrong package (installation-report) and then resent it to the right one. Meanwhile the wrong one was reassigned to installation-reports package, so I'm closing it report, since it's a copy of the other one. Thanks, Guido
