Actually I havent thought of this, even when I am one of those "run /usr as readonly and /var as noexec" guys. I have /tmp -> /var/tmp, so this applies to my system. And some scripts, especially from debian package setup do not work very well, but this is no problem, to remount, whenever I upgrade.
