Does Debian have much success in forcing these spammers to pay the fin^^^^ fees mentioned on the mailing list pages?
Not sure about debian-security, but debian-user, for example, is an "open" list. You do NOT need to subscribe to send messages *to* the list. So, you certainly don't have to visit the mailing list pages or "agree" to any terms, such as sending "spam" to the list.
The "fee" or "fine" is a joke, right ?? :-)
