I'm not sure where the tiff transition falls on your long list, but I
thought I'd add a little more information on what issues we may
encounter.

Following up on this, I'm include the following remark from Tom Lane,
the person at Red Hat who manages the tiff package and who is active on
the upstream mailing list (and who I have talked to many times about
coordinating security issues, etc.):

In any case, as Fedora has already made progress in this area, I can
mine their patches for any required NMUs.
