The typical problem, which is what Tomas was pointing at with AAAA request being done before A requests, is that if the ipv6 module is loaded and you are in a ipv4-only environment, you still get a link local ipv6 address, and applications (glibc, actually) think (quite rightfully, from their PoV) that you are using ipv6. Then you end up doing AAAA requests, which adds delay to getting the ipv4 connection, and in the event they end up with some data (for the few sites that have AAAA entries), you even try to connect to an impossible to reach ipv6 address.
