I am now back home from Debconf, and could check the same number in Unstable. There are 843 packages with init.d scripts in Unstable, and thus 44% lacking such header. I've created <URL:http://wiki.debian.org/LSBInitScripts/DependecyBasedBoot> to track the status of this feature. I hope it can be a coordination point for the work on converting Lenny to using dependency based boot sequencing. The mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] will be used for this purpose as well.
