There's been discussion about whether uploads to s-p-u should have the same effect of back-propagating to t-p-u and unstable that stable-security does, but I don't think any real conclusion has been reached yet. The other option would be to upload a version of e2fsprogs built against glibc 2.3.2 to testing-proposed-updates, allow it to be installed, and then upload to stable as well.
