Yes, of course. Also there is nothing suspicious there. As I said, xmms (using arts plugin) and play (using artsdsp) work fine. Also I hear sound from dvd's (xine+arts). The only sounds I do not hear are those set up via the System notification setting. Checking twice the options of arts I found something interesting: When I click on the "play" Button in the system-notification window (like testing the specified soundfile) and then restart artsd the soundfile is played. If I use an external player like alsaplayer that is also started when I restart arts (via changing an option and apllying the changes) Andreas -- To be considered successful, a woman must be much better at her job than a man would have to be.
