Package: realplayer
Severity: wishlist
Version: 7.0.1.5
Synopsis: mime.types not set to launch RealPlayer for .ram files
Class: support

Distribution: Debian 2.2
System: Linux 2.2.15 i686 unknown

Description:
On a clean install of potato, I installed RealPlayer via the realplayer
installer. I downloaded the rpm format player from Real.com and renamed
it to match the name expected by the installer. The installation did not
report any errors.

The installation added this to netscape's helper list:

Description: RealPlayer Plugin Metafile
MIMEType: audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin
Suffixes: <blank>
Plug In: RealPlayer(tm) 7.0 Plug-In

However, launching a .ram file in netscape brings a save prompt instead
of launching the player.

The only way I could get it to work was to add a helper application in
Netscape prefs:

Description: Real Audio
MIMEType: audio/x-pn-realudio
Suffixes: ra,rm,ram
Application: realplayer %s

I do not know if it is possible to preset this association. In case it's
not maybe a little README distributed with the installer would be
helpful.
