A workaround to this bug is to declare nautilus as a 'bad application' : echo '&nautilus' >> .gdkxft (or in /etc/gtk/gdkxft.conf ) I'll fill a wishlist bug in the libgdkxft package about this. The workaround is unperfect though: the segfault happens eratically, often at first startup and mostly never after (a bit strange I admit), 20 minutes ago I had a nice gdb backtrace, now I can't get it to segfault anymore, but windows don't open. -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux lat5944-1 2.4.18 #4 mer jun 5 19:20:00 CEST 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=fr_FR.ISO-8859-1, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.ISO-8859-1 Versions of packages nautilus depends on: ii bonobo 1.0.20-1 The GNOME Bonobo System. ii gdk-imlib1 1.9.14-4 Gdk-Imlib is an imaging library ii libart2 1.4.1.7-1 The GNOME canvas widget - runti ii libaudiofile0 0.2.3-4 The Audiofile Library ii libbonobo2 1.0.20-1 The GNOME Bonobo library. ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.2-1 A high-quality block-sorting f ii libc6 2.2.5-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcdparanoia0 3a9.8-6 Shared libraries for cdparanoia ii libdb3 3.2.9-16 Berkeley v3 Database Libraries ii libeel0 1.0.2-11 Eazel Extensions Library ii libesd0 0.2.27-0.0.1 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Sha ii libfam0 2.6.6.1-4 client library to control the F ii libfreetype6 2.1.1-3 FreeType 2 font engine, shared l ii libgconf11 1.0.9-2 GNOME configuration database sy ii libgdk-pixbuf-gnome2 0.17.0-2 The GNOME Canvas pixbuf library ii libgdk-pixbuf2 0.17.0-2 The GdkPixBuf library. ii libglib1.2 1.2.10-5 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-vfs0 1.0.5-1 The GNOME virtual file-system l ii libgnome32 1.4.1.7-1 The GNOME libraries ii libgnomeprint15 0.36-1 The GNOME Print architecture - ii libgnomesupport0 1.4.1.7-1 The GNOME libraries (Support li ii libgnomeui32 1.4.1.7-1 The GNOME libraries (User Inter ii libgnorba27 1.4.1.7-1 GNOME CORBA services ii libgtk1.2 1.2.10-12 The GIMP Toolkit set of widgets ii libjpeg62 6b-5 The Independent JPEG Group's JP ii libmedusa0 0.5.1-4 The GNOME search/indexing packa ii libnautilus0 1.0.6-7 Shared libraries that part of Na ii liboaf0 0.6.10-2 The GNOME Object Activation Fram ii liborbit0 0.5.16-1 Libraries for ORBit - a CORBA O ii libpanel-applet0 1.4.1-1 Library for GNOME Panel applets ii libpng2 1.0.12-3 PNG library - runtime ii libpopt0 1.6.4-1 lib for parsing cmdline paramete ii librsvg1 1.0.3-3 SAX-based renderer library for S ii libtiff3g 3.5.5-6 Tag Image File Format library ii libungif4g 4.1.0b1-2 shared library for GIF images (r ii libwrap0 7.6-9 Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers li ii libxml1 1:1.8.17-2 GNOME XML library ii oaf 0.6.10-2 The GNOME Object Activation Fram ii scrollkeeper 0.3.10-1 A free electronic cataloging sys ii xlibs 4.2.0-0pre1v1 X Window System client libraries ii zlib1g 1:1.1.4-1 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- == Thomas Morin -- GSM: 06 83 20 64 87 -- Tel: 02 98 05 98 54 == [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] == PGP Id:8CEA233D Key FP:503BF6CFD3AE8719377B832A02FB94E08CEA233D -- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 151042-done) by bugs.debian.org; 27 Jan 2004 15:07:42 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 27 07:07:42 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from bangpath.uucico.de [195.71.9.197] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1AlUoY-00045f-00; Tue, 27 Jan 2004 07:07:42 -0800 Received: by bangpath.uucico.de (Postfix, from userid 10) id 986A026BB2; Tue, 27 Jan 2004 16:07:41 +0100 (CET) Received: by deprecation.cyrius.com (Postfix, from userid 1000) id CCABEFFA0; Tue, 27 Jan 2004 15:07:30 +0000 (GMT) Date: Tue, 27 Jan 2004 15:07:30 +0000 From: Martin Michlmayr <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Removed Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.5.1+cvs20040105i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_01_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=3.8 required=4.0 tests=SORTED_RECIPS autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_01_25 X-Spam-Level: *** This package has been removed from Debian unstable: doesn't meet build-depends, upstream not very active, breaks gtk2. -- Martin Michlmayr [EMAIL PROTECTED]
