Hi,

I'm considering how feasible is removing Qt3 from wheezy. Even if
we freeze soon, removing packages is never a problem :-)

One of the big parts of the effort would be removing python-qt3, there are
only 6 packages in the archive currently using python-qt3:

* Package: kodos (#604359) It seems dead upstream.

* Package: luma (#604358) Upstream started the Qt4 migration
but seems dead.

* Package: mnemosyne (#604362)

* Package: museek+ (604606)

* Package: pyqonsole (#604371). It seems dead upstream

* Package: matplotlib (No bug reported) It build-depends on python-qt-dev to
add
python-qt3 support. So it only needs dropping Qt3 support.

(The maintainers of all those packages have been bcc'ed, please answer to
debian-python@ if you have something to say).

Is it worth keeping python-qt3 and therefore Qt3 (that does not have any
maintainer) in Debian only for those apps? Are the python-qt3 maintainers
willing
to continue with the python-qt3 maintenance wrt upstream work?

Ana
