Unless of course you want to encourage a rich ecosystem of plugins. I haven't written Mercurial or git plugins (if the latter is even possible), but the ease with which you can write Bazaar plugins with just a little Python code is a huge win, IMO. >Because git-buildpackage is widely used while mercurial-buildpackage is >not?
