But this is not just an MIA team task. The Uploaders field is part of
the package's maintenance metadata, and keeping it reasonably accurate
should be part of maintaining the package. If you notice that someone
listed there no longer appears to be actively maintaining the package,
please consider cleaning it up.
This will result in no-human-maintainers lintian issues, because many packages
are on life support with team uploads where no person wants to commit to the
package by adding themselves to Uploaders.
I guess we should just acknowledge that fact in the override comment.
Or you can just leave it as it is? The next uploader who cares enough about the
package can add themselves. In the meantime it serves as reminder that there
is, in fact, no human uploader.
Someone without OCD might be able to live with that, but team maintained
packages I upload really need to be lintian clean.
And lintian errors should really be fixed if they're not false positives.
The override comment also serves as a reminder that a human uploader is wanted,
but as I will most likely be the next person to upload the package it will stay
there for quite a while.
The pool of people working on GIS and OSM packages as pretty much dried up,
leaving me to do janitorial work on the packages in the team nobody else still
works on.
These other people willing to work on packages are mostly theoretical, the
contributions the packages get are mostly patches in the BTS by maintainers of
rdeps and archive-wide QA.
Kind Regards,
