But if you are keen and have the time and expertise, I'd be putting
something together with a esp8266 ($3 delivered in qty 1 from ebay ARM
board with 2.4GHz WiFi that runs micro-python) together with a mains
rated solid state relay ($2 ebay delivered qty 1). If you add on the
glue (wires, connectors, picofuse, case) you are probably still looking
at under $10 per item controlled.
