Blocking it to the Debian servers does protect those of us who use debian.org addresses on the lists. Unfortunately, this is pretty much the nastiest possible mailing list problem, and there really is no good solution. There's nothing that the mailing list managers can really do to stop the messages unless somehow the address that's doing the forwarding can be identified, and they've already tried all the obvious things. I'm not sure punitive measures are going to help either, but I can understand the frustration. Some mailing lists just almost always have this problem.
