Would it be feasible for someone to create something like popcon that instead reported hardware statistics, and would also be integrated the installer?  There is response bias inherent in such a survey, and a tool like this would provide continually updated statistics.

since we were recently discussing what baseline to use for the powerpc and

what type of hardware people are using these ports on.

Does anyone have a suggestion what platform to use for the survey?
Related, I think Debian includes a Popularity Contest software; see
<https://popcon.debian.org/>. Maybe popcon will reveal some useful
statistics.

On the downside, I think it is disabled by default.
popcon.debian.org doesn't disclose the actual hardware which is what we need
to determine the optimum baseline for the powerpc and ppc64 ports.
