Darn! X doesn't work on my PowerBook G4 too! I was so happy that the 5.14-2 kernel did boot successfully with a console, but it does not start X, black screen, exactly as on the iBook.
Contrary to the iBook, the PowerBook has been updated to the very latest possible packages, including libffi etc.
Again, booting an old kernel leads to working X. RIccardo
