Hi Norbert, thank you for the information. However, as I said in my second message of 21 june, after using your 'trick' (installing OS9 on USB) I was then able to boot again into OS9 (using yaboot), despite my 26 partitions! The only problem left is being unable to install OS X.3: when I put CD1 in the drive and click the install icon, a screen with a big X and an invitation to restart appears, but then I get only a whitish screen with a big apple and a turning wheel underneath: the CD keep on turning with no other result ;( Thanks again for your help.
