Some Airport Extreme chipsets are not fully supported now according to the bcm43xx driver webpage (http://bcm43xx.berlios.de/?go=devices). The one I have (BCM4306) works with linux-2.6.18 in my Ibook G4. I didn't manage it to work using the firmware-cutter utility, I had to download the firmware to make it work (http://au.ubuntu.cafuego.net/pool/edgy-cafuego/bcm43xx/bcm43xx-firmware_1.3-1ubuntu2_all.deb) However, the BCM4318 has still 'transmission power issues' so it may not properly work. It is possible that your card has the BCM4318 chip id. Execute: "lspci | grep BCM" (without the quotes) to find out your wifi card Chip ID. You can also try another firmware version. The one I am using in Debian Etch can be downloaded here: http://au.ubuntu.cafuego.net/pool/edgy-cafuego/bcm43xx/bcm43xx-firmware_1.3-1ubuntu2_all.deb -- Hablar con bestias es para molestias.
