Hi, It's my first post here, and I wanted to say that I'm totally happy with my Woody ppc on an ibook 366 SE, it took me about half an hour to install everything, as the support is really complete. First I choose the SID version, because I needed packages like GAIM 0.75, but I finally went back to stable, because things like the sleeping mode is definitely more... stable. I prefer to download the new packages and compile them by myself. Now my question is that I installed the DRI packages from Daenzer, as my graphic card is a rage Mobility. If I use the default config, and lauch glxgears, it's going something like 1000 fps for one or two seconds and then my ibook freeze totally, I have to hold down power to reboot booohhhhh dirty... As I rode it on one site, one day, don't ask me for the adress, I put in the DEVICE section : Option "DMAMode" "mmio". After restarting X, I get 140 fps forever. I think it can help some people...
First, can anybody explain me what this DMAMode means, then if there would be another option than mmio which would be more performant, and at least I would like to know if these 140 fps are good for my card (I think so, since it only has 4MB vram, and AGP 2x). Thank you for answers, et désolé pour mon anglais. ### BEGIN DEBCONF SECTION # XF86Config-4 (XFree86 server configuration file) generated by dexconf, the # Debian X Configuration tool, using values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the XF86Config-4 manual page. # (Type "man XF86Config-4" at the shell prompt.) # # If you want your changes to this file preserved by dexconf, only make changes # before the "### BEGIN DEBCONF SECTION" line above, and/or after the # "### END DEBCONF SECTION" line below. # # To change things within the debconf section, run the command: # dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 # as root.
