recently I tried to install debian on an iMac 17'' (flat screen) and I

where I could find some informations?
The modem is a Conexant controllerless modem; use the hcfusbmodem driver
from Linuxant. I personally haven't gotten it to work to my satisfaction
though (dials, connects, drops carrier on the first bulk data transfer
such as ssh key exchange).
You'll need a rather recent xserver-xfree86 package (the version
from testing should be fine), and a kernel with BenH's recent patches for
rivafb (2.4.23-ben1 works for me).
Michael
Do you have a working dri?
Could you please attach your xfree86 conf, as the one I posted, is from
a mandrake system, and doesn't look very "nice", as it has been edited
by me, and the xfreeconf is definely not one of my skills ;-)
