I get a similar message when booting my mach64 (this is a clone 180MHz 603): Using unsupported 640x480 ATY,mach64_3D_pcc at 81000000, depth=8, pitch=640 Maybe the resolution could be an issue, if that is the only resolution the card will drive; oldworld Macs had limited video resolution capability. Most will still not work with XFree86 in 16-bit mode, they require 8 or 15; and certainly a resolution as high as 1152x870 would not have been supported then. I have also had another machine (a 604;9500) boot without video output, when trying to boot a 2.4 kernel, but have not heard of any solutions. I can shut the machine down 'blind' by typing in the root login and password, then halt, and can ssh in -- so I know it's booting. That machine does work fine with the 2.2.20-pmac kernel. > lspci : command not found > > cat /proc/pci: > nearly the same as above for the ATI card. > > cat /proc/cpuinfo > cpu : 604e > clock : 170MHz > revision 2.2 > maschine: Power Macintosh > motherboard: AAPL,????
