The LSI Logic (formerly Symbios Logic, formerly NCR) 53c8xx SCSI chips work
fine with Linux too. I have a DawiControl 53c875-based UW-SCSI card in my PPC
box, with 2 disks, a CD-ROM and a CD-writer. I used to take backups with it on
a DDS-1 tape drive (before the tape drive died), using Amanda.

In personal conversations with technical people, I call myself a hacker. But
when I'm talking to journalists I just say "programmer" or something like that.
