Had a USB mouse, but same thing happens when it is diconnected... Anyway, I'll recap what I have here on this PowerBook Debian Testing pmud 0.10-4 xserver-xfree-dri-trunk 2002.12.05-4 kernel 2.4.20-ben8 patched with new_sleep.diff, apm emulation set and /dev/apm_bios created drm-trunk-modules (2002.12.05) I haven't touched /etc/power/pwrctl (it doesn't include anything PowerBook G4 specific?). Have I got something missing?
