Yes, that looks alright.. I just checked and it's drwxrwxrwt.. when KDE starts and hangs at the initializing system services point, if I ctrl-alt-delete and get back to the prompt, the ps -ef shows a modprobe process which is trying to modprove net-pf-10 which is the IPv6 module... which KDE script might be the one that starts this modprobe? I think this might be one of the problems... Thanks, nirmal
