Clive- i added a little more contrast to the color scheme on the page, hopefully it helps a little (can you tell that i am fond of black backgrounds with amber text?)
http://fungus.ucdavis.edu/~dylan/ i would be happy to post your notes, as well as anyone else's regarding Woody and Xwindows on old world scsi macs. i was able to get X running on a 7100 in the past, however, it was using Mklinux DR2... a little outdated by today's standards... but i will try and get it working on one of my machines here, and then post the config file. it is always nice to see these old macs being put to use-- they are great machines for low volume servers and the like. heck, my own personal web site is hosted on an LC 475! nothing fancy, but it does the job! good luck! dylan on 02.10.31 4:24 AM, Clive Menzies at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > At 9:55 pm -0800 30/10/02, dylan wrote: >> for all the old-world pmac and nubus_pmac fans out there... >> >> here are some useful links that helped me get Woody working on some 7100's, >> an 8100, and an 8500 + X11. >> >> thanks to Etsushi Kato for his great mach_kernel + installers! >> >> i will continue to update this site with information as it comes along. >> >> http://fungus.ucdavis.edu/~dylan/ >> > Thanks Dylan - I've spent hours looking for similar info in the past ;-) > > I also used the Etsushi Kato mach_kernel + installers > > I posted some install notes for Woody on the list in July - do want > them for your site? - you can edit, amend or discard them. > > A minor observation - the colours on the homepage make it a bit > difficult to read - it may be my set up, myopia, or even old age ;-) > > I've yet to get X properly working on my 8100/80 (woody), which works > well in all other respects - your posting has given me new > inspiration - thanks again > > Regards > > Clive
