        Did you read the last few days of traffic? There was a thread
        for ejecting floppy disks, which works for CDs.

        Just when I was going to post the information two people beat
        me to it (regarding the eject command and the open firmware
        method -- I didn't know about the third way). :-)

P.S.: Depending on the GUI you use, you can associate some buttons on
the keyboard with, say, eject to simulate MacOS's behaviour.
