I've been trying to make kismet work on my ibook2's airport card. Normal networking, at least in ad-hoc mode, works okay. After a minute of running kismet in its generic mode, its ioctls start failing; the syslog reports:
May 17 15:41:47 eel kernel: hermes @ 0xd491d000: Timeout waiting for command completion. May 17 15:41:47 eel kernel: hermes @ 0xd491d000: Frame allocation command failed (0xFFFFFF92). May 17 15:41:47 eel kernel: orinoco_cs: Failed to set parameters on eth1 May 17 15:41:47 eel kernel: hermes @ 0xd491d000: Timeout waiting for card to reset (reg=0x0000)! May 17 15:41:47 eel kernel: eth1: Error -110 shutting down Hermes chipset After this point the card goes nonresponsive, and network connectivity is lost. It recovers after a sleep, though the kernel reports "Error -16 shutting down Hermes chipset" beforehand (no error reported when waking it up again.) This is 2.4.18-newpmac with an dwithout kernel-patch-benh on Sid. -- Devin \ aqua(at)devin.com, 1024D/E9ABFCD2; http://www.devin.com Carraway \ IRC: Requiem GCS/CC/L s-:--- !a !tv C++++$ ULB+++$ O+@ P L+++ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
