All working now :)) X was fixed by upgrading to X 4.2 . I had to build from source ( just with a default 'make World' ) and then rather ickerly installed over the existing X debs - it may be safer to install under /usr/local . I then switched the driver in XF86Config to 'radeon' and everything was fine - 1152x768 at 24bit color and all lined up correctly.
If anybody is interested in my XF86Config, feel free to mail me. Pcmcia was fixed by setting the following in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts include port 0x100-0x4ff, port 0x1000-0x17ff include memory 0xa7000000-0xa7ffffff I also built a recent benh ( 2.4.19-pre3 ), which may have helped pcmcia too. -- mallum on Thu, Mar 21, 2002 at 10:34:49AM +0000, mallum wrote: > Hi all; > > Yesterday I decided to treat myself to a tibook after suffering an old > 800x600 laptop for far too long. > > I've made my way through a debian woody netinst install and upgraded > to unstable, however Im left with a number of issues. > > Im using a 2.4.18 kernel from here [1] .
