Dear List, I'm sorry to ask you for this problem, as it is not strictly debian related, but i swear i searched hard :)
So here's the problem : i've just bought a tibook, and can't get a cd audio to work. /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info reports that my drive is unable to read CD-A. i echoed 0 in /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/media_check, to no avail. OK, so as told i tried xmms's readcd plugin and selected read digital audio, still to no avail. And the kernel message I get with cdcd when requesting info for the drive is: hdc: packet command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } hdc: packet command error: error=0x54 ATAPI device hdc: Error: Illegal request -- (Sense key=0x05) Invalid field in command packet -- (asc=0x24, ascq=0x00) The failed "Start/Stop Unit" packet command was: "1b 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 " As far as Audio CDReader is concerned, I get no message, but the plugin says there's no cd in the drive. Please don't advise me to reboot into MacOS, i don't have it. Thank you for your help, JB. -- I'm an occurence of the I love GNU virus. Please help me spread.
