Have you checked your syslog files? IIRC, pmud logs every sleep and wakeup. If that is the case, just setup pmud to log to a facility that is ignored by syslogd (I have PMUD_FLAGS="-f local7" in /etc/default/power and local7.none tags in every line in /etc/syslog.conf).
