I've got a Problem with my aktual Debian Installation. I want to run 16bit Mode

fbdevScreenInit: unable to set screen params (Invalid Argument)

Could it be a Problem with my yaboot.conf ?

Possible; do you have to use the novideo option?

If you have ATI hardware, it may only work correctly with 15 bit, don't know if that matters with the 3.3 FBDev server though.

What's about xpmac ? Can I run it under Debian ?

Yes. It's only a binary you can put wherever you want (you can also alienate the RPM of course), doesn't even need a config file.

And by the way: What was the reason for leaving xpmac out of debian potato
and woody ?

Nothing is 'left out' - you can ask a Debian developer to package it, or become one yourself and do it :) I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle though.
