Then, untar Debian's "base_xx.tgz" in this partition. Reboot with root=/dev/the_debian_partition, configure by hand (/etc/hostname, /etc/hosts, /etc/fstab, tzconfig) and run apt-get. (Tested twice, with YellowDog, whose installation seems to work very often.)
